THE GENERATION TO GENERATION SONG
>> Monday, January 4, 2010
I love you, baby,
And if it's quite alright,
I need you, baby,
To warm a lonely night.
I love you, baby. Trust in me when I say...
I bet you've heard (or at least know) the song. Yeah, it's *Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You*!
You probably heard it once or twice in different versions by Muse, Lauryn Hill, Manic Street Preachers or whoever it was.
Well the point is since the song has been covered with different versions by different musicians, I think we should call it the generation to generation song.
So youngster, will we be the artist who cover this song again?
Track listing (in order of covered year)
1. Franki Valli's version, the original one in 1967
2. Boys Town Gangs in 1982, disco nuance
3. Lauryn Hill in 1996 for Conspiracy Theory soundtrack
4.Heath Ledger as Patrick Verona in 10 Things I Hate About You, 1999
5. Muse recorded the track in 2001, released in 2002
FYI there's lot of singers/bands who covered the song from different countries. The Killers (USA), Ayumi Hamasaki (Japan), David Campbell (Australia), Manic Street Preachers (UK), and so on.
